Lauren Blackburn ’26 Obituary News

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Lauren Blackburn ’26, a cherished member of the Princeton University community. Lauren was reported missing earlier this week and was found Friday morning at Lake Carnegie. His loss is profoundly felt by all who knew her.

Originally from Indiana, Lauren was a bright and thoughtful student whose presence lit up the spaces she entered. A member of the Class of 2026, he brought warmth, curiosity, and kindness to his studies and her friendships. Lauren was last seen near Firestone Library on Saturday, and in the days that followed, the campus community came together in hope as search efforts were underway.

Though his time with us was far too short, Lauren made a lasting impression on classmates, faculty, and staff. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her and in the community that grieves her absence.

“We know that every member of our community joins us in sending our condolences to Lauren’s family, friends, and loved ones and in wishing them strength in this most difficult time,” wrote Regan Crotty ’00, Dean of Undergraduate Students.

Lauren’s death marks a devastating loss for Princeton, the ninth student to pass since 2021. We mourn alongside his loved ones and honor her life with compassion and care.
